Receive This Day
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2 NIV

A prayer
for the one
in her ponder
like me.
Father
you put
my plan
into place
then
breathed
me
into life.
Every
sigh and doubt
giggle and dance
tear and tantrum
prayer and petition
even my
thread bare faith
every single thing
called me
is seen
and
adored
by you.
That blows my mind.
My life’s messy patchwork is a beautiful tapestry to you.
A purposely
planned
painting
still in process.
Unfinished
in this world.
Perfect
in the next.
God
you love me
more than
I can ever imagine.
Yet
too often
I try
to define
the depths
of your love
by
measuring them
with my
broken
less than enough
yardstick
instead of
by your
grace-laced
more than enough
truth.
For you are so much more than those puny limits I put on you.
More than
my hallelujah song
that seems
really holy
on a
Sunday morning
only to
forget about
on a Monday.
Please
forgive me
again.
Father
I wanna trust you
in tangible ways
that give hope
to another soul.
Isn’t that
what
this
love one another
stuff is all about?
My story for your glory, God.
I am
your daughter.
Not just another face in the crowd.
You see me
inside and out
and
love me anyway.
You love
every dear one
reading these words.
Help us
to surrender
all our junk
for all your joy.
Help us
to love like you.
Arms wide open
to receive
this day
come what may.
We love you, Lord. Amen. XOXO
Spread your joy,
