Because You Do, Because You Are

“The Lord says, I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.” Psalm 91:14-15 NLT

I’m back at the bench, God.

Yeah
that same ole one.

Where I wallow
and wonder
where you are
again.

Where I weep
and wrestle
with
your will
(cause I believe mine is better)
again.

Where I

just

wanna

feel your presence, Lord.

I expect
your tangible
to earn
my trust.

As if the leaves that dance
and
the breeze that plays
and
the breath that brings
life
to my lamenting
isn’t enough.

Forgive my selfishness
Father.

Gather
the clutter
that consumes me.

Those
twisted thoughts
knotted
like
left-behind
necklaces
tossed away
before
I even try.

Untangle me, Savior.

You are here.
You are holy.
You are love.

Love that died for me.
Love that lives for me.
Love that never ends.

No lie.

Remind me
I don’t need
to see
a speck of
tomorrow.

Because you do.

Because you are.

So
even though
my surrender
may merely
last a second
(no surprise)
you still wait for me.

On a bench
or
wherever I wander.

My mess
doesn’t
make you
love me
any less.

Quite the opposite.

You adore me anyway. XOXO

Spread your joy,

tina
