“The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness” Jeremiah 31:3 NIV
They glistened like chocolate dipped in gold dust.
My Daddy’s eyes.
Although he’s been with Jesus for over 30 years, they still dance within my heart.
Especially this time of year.
Father’s Day is around the corner.
There are a variety of feelings that surface with the name “Father”…
Giggly good. Painfully raw.
Always there. Never knew.
Lean in, dear one.
What if I told you we have a Daddy who sees us and loves us even bigger and better than our earthly one?
He delights in us.
Think of something that makes you happy. Not just happy, but more like nothing-can-wipe-this-smile-off-my-face HAPPY! Guess what? Our Heavenly Father feels that way about us. We bring Him HAPPY. Even more, we bring Him JOY. We are each His one-of-a-kind creation. Oh, how He loves us.
When He delights in us, His eyes beam with great joy!
“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 NIV
He pursues us.
Perhaps you and your Heavenly Father haven’t communicated in awhile. You may wonder if He even sees you at all. Friend, one of the cool things about God is that He pursues us! We can’t hide from His love. He patiently waits for us with His arms wide “I love you thisssss much” open.
When He pursues us, His eyes glisten with grace!
“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.” Luke 15:4-6 NIV
He loves us lavishly.
Look up the word “lavish” and you’ll find a variety of definitions.
Generous. Elaborate. Splendid. Magnificent. Exquisite.
Isn’t it breathtaking to think of our Heavenly Father loving us like that?
When He thinks of His children, His eyes radiate extravagant love!
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” 1 John 3:1a NIV
Our Heavenly Daddy sees us, beloved.
We are the hearts in his eyes.
They twinkle with an everlasting love for you and me and the whole wide world.
May His big beautiful love overwhelm us in the best way.
Happy Father’s Day! XO
Spread your joy,
