Welcome to the Neighborhood
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 (NIV)
I love words.
Words and pencils make me happy.
Throw in a hard copy of Merriam-Webster and I’m dancing around the room!
But now, my love for words and desire to share those words with you has propelled me into the 21st century. (Bring the smelling salts please.)
Today, I am a blogger.
And, I’m so glad you’re here!
You see, this blog is for you and for me.
It’s been a long time coming and I wasn’t ready to write it.
For many years, I was in financial services marketing and loved it.
But, that is what I did, not who I am.
In fact, you know what’s even better to share than great loan rates and fabulous service?
You have one. We all do.
So, on this very first day of my very first blog, I’d like to share a very short story…
When I was 9 years old, a neighbor invited me to Vacation Bible School at her church.
I really liked her. So did Mama and Daddy-O. After all, she was always smiling and sooo joyful.
And, on that last Friday in June at VBS, I asked Jesus into my heart.
The love of that neighbor for me changed my life.
Now, it’s your turn, friend.
Whose life can you change with your love?
Whose life can you encourage with your story? XOXO
Spread your joy,
Nice intro story. Anxious to read more.
Thanks for your comment, Mary!
Blessings on you,
Beautiful! Short & Sweet. . . . so proud to call you my “cousin, friend & older sis”! : ) Can’t wait to learn more about you, your life & our Wonderful Lord!
Appreciate the “shout-out”…and remember that your life is a blessing to me!
Beautiful story! Looking forward to many more from your blog!
So happy that you stopped by…YOU are special!
Very beautifully put Tina. She was a great neighbor and her kids were great friends.
Glad to hear from you again.
I treasure my memories of growing up on 4th Street and you’re a part of that, my friend.
Blessings on you! XO
