Every. Single. Thing.

“Count your blessings, name them one by one,

Count your blessings, see what God has done!

Count your blessings, name them one by one,

Count your many blessings, see what God has done.”

Recognize that old hymn? Perhaps you sang it in church or have hummed it in your head. Or, maybe you let it go in one ear and out the other. Or, maybe just maybe,  you’ve never heard it before and don’t want to hear it now. And that’s okay.

Tis the season of gratefulness! Yet, sometimes it’s difficult to feel the blessings, much less count ’em, right?

Right.

But, will you try something with me? It will only take a few seconds. Will you close your eyes and say to yourself “Help me to be grateful in this, God.”

This job. This health problem. This relationship. This family issue. This circumstance. This financial situation. This worry. This decision. This fear.

In everything, give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. ”  1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV)

EVERYTHING? Really? Yes, really.

Every. Single. Thing.

He knows. He heard you. He heard me. And He is with us in the midst of whatever we’re in. He promised. And He always keeps His promises.

So, let’s squeeze His hand. Tighter. Tighter still. Come on, just one more squeeeeeeze.

“So, amid the conflict whether great or small,

Do not be discouraged, God is over all;

Count your many blessings, angels will attend,

Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.”

Feel His peace. And in everything, give thanks.

Spread your joy,

Spread your joy,

tina
